Going abroad, or coming back to Boston?

Sublease your Boston apartment while you’re away — or line up a place for when you return to school. Both run on landlord-approved subleases, signed on-platform, with a 32-day minimum.

I’m going abroad

Don’t pay for an empty Boston apartment while you’re away. Sublease it to a .edu-verified student — your landlord stays in the loop and the agreement is signed on-platform.

Abroad now and realizing you’ll need somewhere to live when you’re back at school? Tell us your return dates and budget — a Student Spots agent sends you a shortlist of Boston subleases.

Why returning students use us

Built for the back-to-Boston window, not a 12-month lease.

Calendar-aware terms

Listings start at a 32-day minimum and run up to about six months — the window most students returning from a semester abroad need. Skip the awkward "we only do 12-month leases" conversation.

Furnished is common

Many sublessors leave their place fully furnished while they’re traveling or back home. The listing tells you what stays, what goes, and what the kitchen comes with.

Talk to whoever lives there

Message the current tenant directly before you commit. Ask about the building, the housemates, the walk to your program. You see the same listing they do.

Master lease + approval required

Subleases on Student Spots are required to include the original master lease upload and the lister’s written confirmation that their landlord approved the handoff before they can publish. You see the master lease before you commit.

How it works

From form to messaging the lister, in three steps.

1
Tell us your dates + budget

Use the form below. Include your Boston school and when you fly back. One minute to fill out, no account needed.

2
A Student Spots agent emails you back

Usually within one business day. You get a shortlist of Boston listings that fit your return window, your price, and your neighborhood.

3
Message the lister + book

Sign up with your school email, message the current tenant, agree on terms, and sign the sublease on-platform. No broker stands between you.

We can't guarantee a match — Boston housing is tight in the fall — but we'll be straight with you about availability and help you adjust dates or neighborhoods if the first sweep doesn't turn anything up.
